Youth Formation

Bringing our children to Christ

In the Gospel of Matthew 19:14, Jesus says, “Let the children come to Me.”  As Catholics we know that our children need to be “formed” in the faith; not educated, and especially for older youth, the only approach that makes sense is to have a relationship with Jesus.  The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains that the first and most important teachers of the faith are the parents.  Children have a way of knowing the difference between words and actions, which is why it is so important for parents to be grounded in the faith.

Faith Formation in our parishes is an on-going mission.  Adults and children are encouraged to become involved in ministries and in formation that will last throughout the year.  From our formal religious formation programs to ministries such as Greeting, to scouting, there are many opportunities for growth which can be seen on our Youth Formation Calendar.

We encourage you to participate in the many offerings for family growth, especially those that encourage study of Sacred Scripture and Christian fellowship.
