Celebrate 100th Fatima Anniversary!

Thank you for all who attended our Living Rosary on the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima!  It was truly a beautiful gift to our Blessed Mother!

2017 is the centennial celebration of Our Lady’s appearances to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917!

Pope Francis is allowing people to gain a plenary indulgence from Nov. 27, 2016 until Nov. 26, 2017.

Growing in the Spirit

Living the Catholic faith is a 24/7, 365 day-a-year proposition.  To live our faith well, we must grow in the Spirit, as St. Paul says in Romans 8:26-27: “ In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to spray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.  And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will.”

If you are feeling disconnected from God it would help to make a good Confession.  Jesus has many graces waiting for you and He wants to take you into His Heart in a deeper way.  Click on the link if you are afraid because you haven’t been in a long time, or if you would benefit from a step by step review of how to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Our faith teaches that God is an Infinite Subject.  Our minds were created to know Him and our hearts were created to love Him.  The more we love a person the more we want to know about him or her.  Knowledge of a person increases our understanding and love of the person.  If you want to grow in your relationship with the Lord, it is important to keep on deepening your learning about Him.   Here at the parishes of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary and St. Leo we are committed to the pursuit of personal holiness:  a personal holiness that will bear fruit in our personal, pastoral, and community lives.  On-going formation is offered through participation in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Bible studies, which includes online courses and certificate programs from Catholic Distance University, ministries, conferences, and especially, through the celebration of the Liturgy (Holy Mass) and the sacraments.

“’I want to see God’ expresses the true desire of man.  Thirst for God is quenched by the water of eternal life.”  Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) 2557
