Intercessory Prayer

St. Michael in the clouds

Asking on Behalf of Others

“Then He told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary” Luke 18:1

In the parable of the persistent widow, Jesus points out that our Heavenly Father is always listening.  Intercessory prayer is when an individual or a group seek the intervention of God for a specific person or persons or for the needs of a community or even the whole world.

How does is work?

Our parishes offer several prayer groups who pray for the needs of others.  Some of these groups meet regularly, such as the Divine Apostles of Mercy or the Lay Apostolate of Healing Love.  Other group gather their prayers via a letter prayer-line or through an internet prayer-line, such as Our Lady’s Partners in Prayer.  Each of our parishioners is encouraged to join voice and pray for others as Jesus has asked of us.

Will they pray for my requests?

If you have a specific need or person for whom you would like us to pray, contact any or all of these groups.
