The book fee for Individual adults or married couples who do not have school age children is $20.  All parishioners are welcome to participate in family faith formation.  Adult education sessions will be offered either on Saturday evenings after the 4:00 pm Vigil Mass (following a potluck supper) OR on Sunday mornings after the 9:00 am Mass and breakfast.  During adult education classes, age group faith sharing activities will be offered downstairs for PK through high school.

Is God calling you to help with family faith formation?  There will be a meeting on Tuesday, June 13th in St. Joan of Arc room at 6:30 pm for all those who are interested in helping with the family faith formation program during the 2017-2018 session.  Volunteers will be needed to coordinate faith sharing activities for PK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and high school youth.  Volunteers are also needed to help with the monthly pot luck Saturday night suppers.

In the Gospel of Matthew 19:14, Jesus says, “Let the children come to Me.”  As Catholics we know that our children need to be “formed” in the faith–not just educated; the only approach that makes sense is to lead the children to a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord.  The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains that the first and most important teachers of the faith are the parents.  Children have a way of knowing the difference between words and actions, which is why it is so important for parents to be grounded in the faith.

From our formal religious formation programs to ministries such as Greeting, to scouting, there are many opportunities for growth which can be seen on our Youth Formation Calendar.

We all need to keep growing in our faith–God is an Infinite Subject!

If your school age child is in need of sacraments of Baptism or First Holy Communion, check out our process for Children and Youth.

We encourage you to participate in the many offerings for family growth, especially those that encourage study of Sacred Scripture and Christian fellowship.

 Free “Youcat” course offered

The Newman Institute is offering a free online course which studies the new youth catechism of the Catholic Church called “Youcat”.  “Youcat” is designed to meet the needs of young people and families who wish to learn more about their faith.  The book is not large; has lovely images and almost a comic book style in which all kinds of interesting information is given about the faith.  The book retails around $20–a bargain. Pope Benedict XVI writes the Forward.
